1. Two Views of the Twin Towers
This is a jarringly different story for us, but then last week was jarringly different.
For New York-based digital artists Katrin Eismann and John McIntosh the day started out as usual. Then they watched through their windows as the World Trade Center collapsed. This is what the devastation looked like through their eyes and the lenses of their digital cameras. We thought their stories might resonate with fellow creative professionals.
From John Mcintosh --
"I can think of a thousand times I looked up at the World Trade Center. It altered
the New York skyline, dominating and imposing. I loved those moments in New
York when you would catch a glimpse the World Trade Center looming between buildings,
standing above the avenues. I never could ignore its presence. I never took
it for granted."
From Katrin Eismann --
"As I watched the magnificent towers implode -- first one and then the second
-- I felt that everything that was yesterday was trivial, meaningless, and empty.
I tasted hatred in my soul that I despise and fear to this very moment."
